Colon was magnificent throughout the first half of the season. His second half hasn’t been quite the same, but he still has a few masterpieces sprinkled in with the duds. He works well as a spot starter and will likely pick up a few wins due to the fact that he’s pitching for a playoff contender. With the fantasy baseball playoffs starting in a little over a week, it is time to ditch the idea of loyalty and go with the hot bats. Guys who have not been producing all season can be cut loose because there is no tomorrow (I’m looking at you, Giancarlo Stanton). While you’re not going to find a Miguel Cabrera or Mike Trout in the free agency pond at this point, there is still talent available.
