Monday Night Raw took place in Laredo, Texas and started off with a bang as we saw Daniel Bryan and Vince McMahon verbally abuse one another in the ring. Later on, we saw Daniel Bryan take on his ex-best friend Kane and Christian competed against the World Heavyweight champion Alberto Del Rio. The main event match showcased John Cena vs. Ryback in a somewhat entertaining Tables bout. Here are the overall highs and lows from tonight’s show:
Best Match: It was a tough call, but the best match of the night goes to Alberto Del Rio vs. Christian. The main event Tables match between John Cena and Ryback was decent, but could have been a lot better. It was obvious that Cena was going to beat Ryback and Christian’s win was more of a surprise. Of course that’s only true if you didn’t read the spoilers. Del Rio vs. Christian was filled with near-falls and Christian looked like the classic underdog and got the shocking victory. I’m excited to see these two square off at SummerSlam for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Crowd Chants of the Night: At the start of the show when Daniel Bryan came out, the crowd chanted “Daniel Bryan” and “YES” multiple times. Man, this guy is so over; he gets this type of reaction every single week! During the RVD vs. Fandango match, the Texas crowd chanted “RVD”. Surprisingly, there were even chants of “let’s go Kaitlyn” during her Divas match against AJ Lee. During the Curtis Axel vs. R-Truth match, the crowd chanted “CM Punk”.
Breakout Star of the Night: Despite losing to Dolph Ziggler via disqualification, Big E. Langston was the breakout star of the night. Langston looked very impressive in the ring and is a surprisingly agile competitor. Ziggler selling all of Langston’s moves helped, but the singlet wearing powerhouse had a decent match with the Showoff until AJ Lee ruined it.
Fan Sign of the Night: This is the part of the review where readers can comment on what their favorite crowd signs were. What were some cool, funny and clever crowd signs that you saw on tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw?
Jobber of the Night: I’m sad to say that Natalya was the jobber of the night. Unfortunately, she was distracted by Nikki Bella in her match against Brie and lost via roll-up. It’s a shame what the WWE is doing to their best Divas wrestler.
Upset of the Night: No doubt, Christian defeating the World Heavyweight champion Alberto Del Rio is the upset of the night. Christian and Del Rio had a great back and forth battle that featured plenty of near falls. Looks like Christian is finally going to get his “one more match”.
Holy Sh** Moment of the Night: I know we’ve all seen it before, but the Wyatt Family attacking Kane was the holy sh** moment of the night. Wyatt also gave a creepy promo after hitting his Sister Abigail finisher on the Devil’s Favorite Demon. What may have been even more impressive was Luke Harper big boot to Kane’s face. That thing almost took his head off as Harper got everything behind it.
Worst Match: Brie Bella vs. Natalya looked somewhat promising, but the finish completely ruined it. I’m sure this was just a promotional tactic for Total Divas, but that was one of the stupidest endings to a match that I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Natalya is the best wrestler in the Divas division and she continues to get treated like complete crap.
Logic Fail of the Night: While it may not be the most illogical thing to happen in the WWE, I’m still pretty annoyed at how AJ Lee keeps ruining/interfering in matches. Obviously AJ is still upset with Ziggler, but why interfere in the match and give him a win against Big E. Langston? It just doesn’t make sense and it continues to happen every single week.

Commentary Lines of the Night: “Mark Henry being sort of a sore loser here…he’s gonna make The Shield sore” – Jerry Lawler. “Fandango says he has a Doctorate in Dance” – Michael Cole. “If Natalya doesn’t make it on Total Divas, she can always be on Duck Dynasty” – Jerry Lawler after Brie Bella called Natalya an “ugly duckling”.
LOL Moment of the Night: The LOL moment of the night was the Damien Sandow/Cody Rhodes segment after the Rhodes vs. Barrett match. Also, the video package shown from last Friday’s SmackDown was shown, which was great. The entire Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes feud has taken a positive turn and the Gulf of Mexico scene was hilarious. Aside from that, the opening segment featuring Daniel Bryan/Vince McMahon and Paul Heyman running away from CM Punk, there weren’t a lot of funny things that happened on Raw.
Overall Lowlights: RVD vs. Fandango; Dolph Ziggler vs. Big E. Langston; Brie Bella vs. Natalya; Curtis Axel promo; Curtis Axel vs. R-Truth; Daniel Bryan corporate makeover?
Overall Highlights: Opening Daniel Bryan and Vince McMahon segment; The Shield vs. The Usos & Mark Henry; Divas match; Christian vs. Alberto Del Rio; Cody Rhodes countering Wade Barrett and hitting Cross Rhodes; Daniel Bryan vs. Kane; Wyatt Family attack on Kane; CM Punk attacking Curtis Axel/Paul Heyman; John Cena vs. Ryback in their Tables match.
